Golf Courses In
Turkey
The golf courses of
Turkey are rapidly becoming some of the hottest
golfing destinations in Europe. With new golf
courses and golf resorts opening all the time to
complement some excellent existing layouts, this
great value holiday destination has become
increasingly popular and as this guide to Turkish
golf shows that story is only just beginning.
On the south coast of the country the Turkish
Riviera in the region of Antalya is centered on the
resort town of Belek whose climate year round is
perfect for fantastic golf. The most well known golf
resorts in the area are the Gloria Golf Resort and
the Sirene Palace Golf Resort which owns the 36
holes at the Antalya Golf Club.
The Old Course at
Gloria is one of the best in the country, set amidst
a forest of pines, and has already hosted European
Senior and World Golf Championship events whilst the
National Golf Club is simply not to be missed,
ranked 43rd in Europe by Golf World, running through
a pine and eucalyptus with a number of challenging
water hazards.
If you relish a
challenge then you should not miss the PGA Sultan
course at the Atalya Golf Club, which is also home
to the enjoyable Pasha layout. A newer golfing
experience can be found at the Carya Golf Club where
the Faldo course is as challenging and classy as you
would expect. It is situated on a unique site that
blends native pine with a sandy soil that is
absolutely perfect for golf.
Another new course
that is associated with a European Ryder Cup star is
the recently opened Montgomerie course at the
Papillon Golf Club, a true championship layout that
will test every level of player. The latest addition
to the great courses this area has to offer is also
unique and a must for lovers of linksland golf. The
Lykia World Links is the first links to have been
built in the Southern Mediterranean and offers a
true seaside test of golf.
A burgeoning star on the European golfing scene
Turkey is fast making its mark with some excellent
golf courses and is a holiday destination that will
certainly meet the needs of every player.
We kindly invite
you to experience golfing in Belek which offers
fantastic facilities in some of the finest golf
courses in whole Europe.
Carya Golf Course

Carya in Antalya's
Belek region is the first classic, heathland style
golf course to be built on Turkey's Mediterranean
coast.
Designed by Thomson
Perrett & Lobb, the international golf course
architecture practice founded by five times Open
Champion Peter Thomson, it is a championship golf
course set on undulating sand hills and cutting
through mature pine and eucalyptus forest, at the
heart of Turkey's golf coast.
Peter Thomson, said:
"This is an exceptional piece of land on which to
build a golf course. It is reminiscent of the famous
Surrey heathland courses near London that I rate
among the world's best and which I was fortunate to
enjoy much success on in my playing days. I am very
excited about the prospect of TPL creating a
classic, traditional style course in Turkey."
Thomson Perrett &
Lobb has created a classic course, unique to the
region, and featuring naturally cultivated heather.
Grown in an extensive nursery on site, Carya's
heather shapes define the course into a truly
magnificent spectacle.
The 7,100 yard, par
72 course, is a demanding test of golfing strategy
with free flowing holes that run between pine and
eucalyptus trees and across a dramatic sand ridge.
Carya also boasts a spectacular new clubhouse and
state-of-the-art driving range.
Dunes Golf Course

The par 69 Dunes
course is also located in front of the hotel's main
building. The Dunes makes use of the natural sand
dunes and reflects the links traditions of golf
course construction with a spectacular view. Green
islands and waste bunker dunes combine in harmony to
create a truly special environment.
Most holes still
thread their way through mature umbrella pines but
it is much more open than the Pines course, giving
it a links style feel with the sand ridges which run
through the course.
With sweeping dunes,
strategic challenges and picturesque views, Sueno
Golf sets a new standard for the game in Turkey. The
resort layout, the Dunes, makes use of the natural
sand features and reflects the links traditions of
course design and construction. Its blend of
spectacular views, island greens and waste bunkers
has blessed Sueno Dunes with a truly special
environment.

became a firm favorite with all golfers. In 2007 the
European Seniors Tour Classic was held, set in
700.000 m2 of Pine trees and with 4 large lakes and
with 67 bunkers it is a worthy sister to the Old
Course, the signature 17th hole modeled on the 17th
at The TPC Sawgrass and the lake lined 18th hole
make sure your finish will be truly memorable.
Kaya Eagles Golf
Course

The Kaya Golf Club
course was designed by Irish golf course designer
and Master PGA Professional, David Jones.
He said, ' Kaya Golf
Club was a very interesting project for me. I often
see golfers frustrated by monster courses of 6500
meters or more in length. At Kaya I had a compact
site to work with and decided to aim for a shorter
layout which would be enjoyable for all golfers,
including those who do not hit the ball vast
distances. I think I have achieved that.
Kaya is challenging
and has quite a few dramatic holes where the player
must choose between risk and reward. But we also
have many shorter par threes and fours where the
interest is provided by strategic bunkers and subtle
green contours. A course for everyone, I would say'.
Tat Golf

Renovated and
reopened at the end of Summer 2010, Tat Golf Club
Belek has been specifically designed for the avid
and demanding European golfer. Offers a choice of
three championship 9 hole layouts giving you a
variety of 18 hole combinations.
Designed by Hawtree
of England, Golf Course Architects, the intention
was to keep the natural character of the area, and
provide dunes, lakes and rivers as much as possible.
The large and widespread area of 13 acres directly
placed by the Mediterranean sea has been left as
original as possible. Many tees are placed on the
summits of the former dunes to give you the best
look-out on the dunes, the Taurus range and the
Mediterranean sea.
At Tat Golf club, the
greens are built as visible to make it possible to
avoid blind shots. Fair and unusually good
conditions are even found after extreme heavy rain
falls. The sandy ground of the former dunes allows
the water to flow off very quickly and ensures the
course remains playable. Emphasis was put on giving
every 9 Hole Championship Course (The River, The
Mediterranean and The Forest) its own character and
each hole has its own playing and landscape
character to make this golf course unforgettable for
you.
Lykia Links Golf
Course

LykiaLinks Golf, a
first in Turkey as well as the Southern
Meditterranean; unique!.. Located directly by the
sea, it is one of the very special golf courses for
professionals known as "Links Course" which takes
advantage of nature's texture. Only 300 of the
36.000 golf courses worldwide are links courses.
As with most links
style golf courses, the prevailing wind off of the
Mediterranean Sea will provide golfers with the
challenge they want. The four holes along the
Mediterranean Sea - Holes 13, 14, 15 and 16 - are
dramatically placed in the dunes and will require
skilled shots. Hole #17, with it's small green and a
prevailing cross wind will test even the good
golfer. The 18th hole finishes stadium style, with a
huge waste area on the right, mounds on the left and
a turtle back green that will require the golfer to
approach the green with caution. This course will be
a challenge for the accomplished golfer, requiring
some Scottish style "punch and run" shots. Quilted
fairways will remind the golfer of some of the
famous golf courses in Scotland that host the
British Open tournaments, as an assortment of pot
bunkers guard the greens and require placement in
the fairway.
All of the holes will
have commanding views of the Mediterranean Sea and
the surrounding mountain peaks. The style Dye is
bringing to Turkey can be seen in the American
courses Harbour Town and Kiawah Island - Ocean
Course. It offers the finest in Scottish links golf,
while still enabling the higher handicap golfer to
negotiate the course and have fun. While on some
courses the hot Turkish sun may deter a golfer, cool
Mediterranean breezes at Lykia Links Golf Course
will provide the golfers a pleasant oasis from the
heat of the sun.
Montgomerie Golf
Course

Colin Montgomerie
officially launched his latest design project on May
23rd 2006. Appointed by Papillon Hotels, Colin will
design a new 18 hole golf course in the Belek region
of Turkey, near Antalya. The Montgomerie Course at
Papillon Golf Club will form part of a new 0 million
golf and hotel complex.
To compliment the 18
hole championship golf course there will be a flood
lit 9 hole short course and a golf academy, as well
as a luxury 5 star hotel and up to 40 holiday villas
which will join the four existing Papillon hotels in
Belek.
National Golf Course

Sculpted fairways,
glistening white bunkers and velvet greens, the
National Golf Club is the first International
standard golf complex on the Turkish Mediterranean
coast.
It has been
established to provide exclusive facilities for both

golf course in mainland Europe, and also in
Germany's Die Welt magazine as the number 9 golf

facility which caters for all golfers, from the
scratch player to the complete beginner, is offered
